PIACOM and LSFC: Over two decades of sustainable cooperation
Lao State Fuel Company (LSFC) is the leading enterprise in petroleum trading and distribution in Laos. Since the early 2000s, LSFC has been a strategic international partner of PIACOM, beginning with the deployment of PBM software. This partnership was significantly upgraded in 2016 when LSFC transitioned to the PIACOM ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) system. This system serves as the backbone for managing comprehensive business operations and is highly appreciated for its effectiveness.
On the occasion of attending the 70th Anniversary of Petrolimex, LSFC paid a visit to PIACOM headquarters. The delegation was led by Mr. Viengthong Vongthavilay – Managing Director and Mr. Bounyoke Boudsavong – Deputy Managing Director. At PIACOM, the leadership team extended a warm and hospitable welcome to the distinguished guests from the "Land of a Million Elephants." The working session took place in an open, straightforward, and highly constructive atmosphere.
Sharing solutions – Consulting on digital transformation
As a leading technology consultant and implementer, PIACOM presented a comprehensive overview of modern petroleum business solution models successfully applied in Vietnam. During the discussion, both parties engaged in a deep analysis of the governance challenges LSFC is currently facing. Leveraging practical experience from deploying systems for thousands of petrol stations and depots, PIACOM experts provided in-depth consultation and proposed solutions to remove bottlenecks through the application of automation technology and process digital transformation.
PIACOM possesses a comprehensive digital technology ecosystem designed specifically for the petroleum industry. This includes self-service fuel purchasing, depot management, transportation, finance and accounting, human resources, and AI integration. The system aims to automate, optimize, and interconnect data across the petroleum value chain—from petrol stations to the head office—thereby enhancing customer experience and management efficiency. This ecosystem is designed to help LSFC optimize resources, ensure data transparency, and improve competitiveness in the Lao market.
"Seeing is Believing" – Practical experience
To demonstrate the effectiveness of these technological solutions, PIACOM organized a practical Site Tour for the LSFC delegation.
- At Duc Giang Petroleum Depot (under Petrolimex Hanoi): The delegation visited the Central Control Room to observe the Terminal Automation System controlling import/export operations and monitoring tank inventory in real-time, ensuring absolute safety and accuracy in operation and cargo management.
- At Petrolimex Hanoi Station No. 84: The delegation inspected the Retail Management Model, the automation system alongside modern digital payment solutions, and standard customer service procedures.
The vivid visual evidence at the site left a strong impression on the LSFC leadership regarding the technological capability and management level of the Vietnamese petroleum industry.
Opening a new chapter in cooperation
The visit and working session concluded successfully, opening up numerous potential cooperation opportunities between PIACOM and LSFC in the near future. Both sides agreed to maintain regular communication channels to materialize the discussed contents, aiming for sustainable development and mutual prosperity.
This event once again affirms that PIACOM is not only a trusted domestic technology partner but is also ready to expand and accompany regional petroleum enterprises on their digital transformation journey.
